1) Baṃḍā (बंडा) [Also spelled banda]:—(a) tailless, without a tail; (nm) a kind of vegetable of the tass-group.

2) Baṃda (बंद) [Also spelled band]:—(a) closed, shut; locked (up); stopped, discontinued; (nm) a bandh, closure; bund, bank; knot; a string or strap; body joint; a stanza, verse; as a suffix it means that which ties or binds; —[galī] a blind alley; ~[gobhī] cabbage; -[baṃda] each and every joint; ~[sāla] a prison; —[karanā] to close/stop/shut/discontinue; to put behind the bars; -[baṃda ḍhīle karanā] to tire out, to weary.

3) Baṃdā (बंदा) [Also spelled banda]:—(nm) a servant, slave; an individual; humble self (used by a speaker for himself out of modesty); —, [khudā kā] a man of God, a creation of God; ~[nivāja] kind to one’s own men; ~[nivājī] kindness to one’s own men; ~[paravara] (a deferential form of address) protector of one’s own men; hence ~[paravarī] (nf); —[joḍe palī-palī rāma udhāreṃ kuppā] man proposes, God disposes.
