The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

तस्मिन्वने लोध्रवनोपगूढे मयूरनादप्रतिपूर्णकुञ्जे ।
काषायवासाः स बभौ नृसूर्यो यथोदयस्योपरि बालसूर्यः ॥ १५ ॥

tasminvane lodhravanopagūḍhe mayūranādapratipūrṇakuñje |
kāṣāyavāsāḥ sa babhau nṛsūryo yathodayasyopari bālasūryaḥ || 15 ||

In that wood, thickly filled with lodhra trees, having its thickets resonant with the notes of the peacocks, he the sun of mankind shone, wearing his red dress, like the morning sun above the eastern mountain.
