The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 5.43

विगते दिवसे ततो विमानं वपुषा सूर्य इव प्रदीप्यमानः ।
तिमिरं विजिघांसुरात्मभासा रविरुद्यन्निव मेरुमारुरोह ॥ ४३ ॥

vigate divase tato vimānaṃ vapuṣā sūrya iva pradīpyamānaḥ |
timiraṃ vijighāṃsurātmabhāsā ravirudyanniva merumāruroha || 43 ||

When the day was gone, then, shining with his form like the sun, he ascended the palace, as the rising sun ascends Mount Meru, desiring to dispel the darkness by his own splendour.
