This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 55.24

वशीकरित्वान ते शल्यं कृत्वा सूपस्थितां स्मृतं ।
आलब्धवीर्यो विहरन्तो विनेष्यं श्रावकां पि तु ॥ २४ ॥

vaśīkaritvāna te śalyaṃ kṛtvā sūpasthitāṃ smṛtaṃ |
ālabdhavīryo viharanto vineṣyaṃ śrāvakāṃ pi tu || 24 ||

“Winning control over thy shafts, making mindfulness my good servant, living with an access of zeal, I will win over even thy own disciples. (24)
