This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 52.141

तं खो राज्यं जनो च पिता च अभिवत्सला च मातुस्वसा ।
तव श्रुत्वा तपसो न्तं प्रीतिसुमनसो भविष्यन्ति ॥ १४१ ॥

taṃ kho rājyaṃ jano ca pitā ca abhivatsalā ca mātusvasā |
tava śrutvā tapaso ntaṃ prītisumanaso bhaviṣyanti || 141 ||

“But now the whole kingdom, thy people, thy father, thy loved ones and thy aunt will be glad and joyful when they hear that thy penance is over. (141)
