This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 49.1

मा दानि मा कमललोचन चारुरूप ।
शोकं लभे सुविपुलं त्वय विप्रहीणो ॥ १ ॥

mā dāni mā kamalalocana cārurūpa |
śokaṃ labhe suvipulaṃ tvaya viprahīṇo || 1 ||

Pray do not do so, my lotus-eyed and charmingly beautiful son. Great grief would I suffer if I were bereft of you. (1)
