This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.
Verse 36.13
हुतासनो वा गिरिमूर्धनस्मिं शशीव नक्षत्रगणावकीर्णो ।
ह्लादेति गात्राणि निरीक्ष्यमाणो ध्यानस्थितो तैलप्रदीपकल्पो ॥ १३ ॥
hutāsano vā girimūrdhanasmiṃ śaśīva nakṣatragaṇāvakīrṇo |
hlādeti gātrāṇi nirīkṣyamāṇo dhyānasthito tailapradīpakalpo || 13 ||
He is like the sacrificial fire on a mountain top, like the moon amid the starry host. The sight of him shining like a lamp as he lingers there immersed in meditation, stirs my whole frame with joy. (13)
