The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

चलवृक्षकबद्धास्थो लोकाचाररतः सदा ।
गृहपार्श्वगतानीलशाद्वलस्थलिकास्थितिः ॥ ३७ ॥

calavṛkṣakabaddhāstho lokācārarataḥ sadā |
gṛhapārśvagatānīlaśādvalasthalikāsthitiḥ || 37 ||

My hopes were as frail as perennial plants, and my conduct the same with that of other men; and the state of my living was as mean, as of the mud and mire about my dwelling.
