The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.96.31

चितेश्चेत्यानुपातिन्या गतायाः सकलङ्कताम् ।
प्रस्फुरद्रूपधर्मिण्या एताः पर्यायवृत्तयः ॥ ३१ ॥

citeścetyānupātinyā gatāyāḥ sakalaṅkatām |
prasphuradrūpadharmiṇyā etāḥ paryāyavṛttayaḥ || 31 ||

The intellect (chit) being bewildered in its view of the intellectual world (chetyas), manifests itself in the form of the mind, and becomes the subject of the various functions which are attributed to it.
