The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पुष्टषुष्पफलस्कन्धा गतश्रीका गृहद्रुमाः ।
गता निर्दग्धसर्वस्वा गृहस्था इव दीनताम् ॥ ४३ ॥

puṣṭaṣuṣpaphalaskandhā gataśrīkā gṛhadrumāḥ |
gatā nirdagdhasarvasvā gṛhasthā iva dīnatām || 43 ||

Oh! the pain of being put to the sword, is not more grievous, than that of being burnt by the fire, or smashed under the stones of the thundering engine.
