The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.1.31

श्रीशुक उवाच ।
स्वयमेव मया पूर्वमेतज्ज्ञातं विवेकतः ।
एतदेव च पृष्टेन पित्रा मे समुदाहृतम् ॥ ३१ ॥

śrīśuka uvāca |
svayameva mayā pūrvametajjñātaṃ vivekataḥ |
etadeva ca pṛṣṭena pitrā me samudāhṛtam || 31 ||

Suka then said: "All this I have come to know long before by my own intuition, and then from the speech of my father in answer to my query.
