The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 1.21.28

केशाः श्मशानवृक्षेषु यान्ति चामरलेखिकाम् ।
अस्थीन्युडुवदाभान्ति दिनैरवनिमण्डले ॥ २८ ॥

keśāḥ śmaśānavṛkṣeṣu yānti cāmaralekhikām |
asthīnyuḍuvadābhānti dinairavanimaṇḍale || 28 ||

Their braided hairs now hang as flappers of chowry on the arbors of the cemetery, and their whitened bones are strewn about as shining stars after a few days.
