Verse 3.7.119
Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of verse 3.7.119:
सव्यापारतरः कश्चित् क्लचिद्धर्मः प्रतीयते ।
संसृज्यन्ते च भावानां भेदवत्योऽपि शक्तयः ॥ ११९ ॥savyāpārataraḥ kaścit klaciddharmaḥ pratīyate |
saṃsṛjyante ca bhāvānāṃ bhedavatyo'pi śaktayaḥ || 119 ||119. One of them is more active and the attribute is just understood in the other case. Even though the powers of things are different, they are sometimes combined.
Commentary
The objection that both would then be always agents is answered as follows;—

[As the material and the modification are identical, both can be the agents of the act of being born. Sometimes die material is active and sometimes the modification. But it has been shown that sometimes they have different scopes. Both are agents but one of them is presented as being more active and the ether less so.]
Why one does not say ‘atvaṃ tvaṃ sampadyase tvadbhavasi’ is now explained.
