Sanskrit text and transliteration:
यतोऽकामहतत्वं स्यात्सर्वातिशयिनोऽञ्जसा ।
सुखस्य प्राप्तये तस्मात्तदेवोत्कृष्टिकृद्भवेत् ॥ ५०९ ॥
yato'kāmahatatvaṃ syātsarvātiśayino'ñjasā |
sukhasya prāptaye tasmāttadevotkṛṣṭikṛdbhavet || 509 ||
English translation of verse 2.509:
Since (total) desirelessness is the direct means of attaining the unsurpassable bliss, it alone causes the increase of happiness (from stage to stage).
