Sanskrit text and transliteration:
सन्धत्ते येन सन्धानं वाय्वादिरिह कीर्त्यते ।
इतीमा इति वाक्येन प्रदर्श्यन्ते यथोदिताः ॥ ६५ ॥
sandhatte yena sandhānaṃ vāyvādiriha kīrtyate |
itīmā iti vākyena pradarśyante yathoditāḥ || 65 ||
English translation of verse 1.65:
That by which (the earlier and the subsequent letters) are joined together is the link. This (must be meditated upon) as air, etc. By the sentence “Thus there are the great combinations,” (meditations on the Saṃhitā) as mentioned above are explained.
Notes:
Sandhāna must be meditated upon as air (vāyu), lightning (vidyut), instruction (pravacana), procreation (prajanana) and the tongue (jihvā).
The text that is referred to in the verse occurs in the Upaniṣad almost at the end of the anuvāka before the statement of the fruits.
