Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. सघण्टाश्चन्दनादिग्धाः स्वर्णवज्रविभूषिताः ।
समुत्क्षिप्य गदाश्चान्ये पर्यपृच्छन्त पाण्डवम् ॥ ६ ॥

saghaṇṭāścandanādigdhāḥ svarṇavajravibhūṣitāḥ |
samutkṣipya gadāścānye paryapṛcchanta pāṇḍavam || 6 ||
