The Garga-samhita Verse 1.7.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 7 (Description of the Conquest of All Directions) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

गदा-युद्धम् अभूत् तत्र
घोरं हि कंस-कालयोः
विस्फुलिङ्गान् क्षरन्त्यौ द्वे
गदे चूर्णी-बभूवतुः

gadā-yuddham abhūt tatra
ghoraṃ hi kaṃsa-kālayoḥ
visphuliṅgān kṣarantyau dve
gade cūrṇī-babhūvatuḥ

gadāclub; yuddham—battle; abhūt—was; tatra—there; ghoram—terrible;

English translation of verse 1.7.19:

hi—indeed; kaṃsa-kālayoḥ—of Kaṃsa and Kālayavana; visphuliṅgān—sparks;

kṣarantyau—tossing; dve—both; gade—clubs; cūrṇī-babhūvatuḥ—became broken into dust.

Then Kaṃsa and Kālayavana fought a terrible duel with clubs, a duel where, throwing many sparks, the clubs were ground to powder.
