tenāpakvenānnena-āhāreṇa, duṣṭena vatādyā hi-yasmāt, pīḍyamānāḥ-vibadhyamānāḥ ruddhamārgatvāt, ata eva yugapat-ekakālaṃ sarva eva, kopitāstadeva-duṣṭamannamāviśyaāśrityālasakaṃ kurvate| kiṃ kurvataḥ? viṣṭambhayataḥ,tadeva duṣṭamannaṃ srotaḥsu rundhānāḥ| tathā, adharottaramārgābhyāṃ sahasaiva-anucite deśe kāle (ca), cyāvayantaḥ-ūrdhvamadhaśca niṣkāśayantaḥ| ajitātmanaḥasaṃyatacetasaḥ puṃsau visūcikāṃ kurvate|

atha prasaṅgādatimātraprakupitadoṣajānāṃ rogāṇāṃ nidānacikitsite kathayati| tatra visūcikālasakayoḥ samprātpimāhapīḍyamānā iti| pīḍyamānāḥ santo yugapatkopitāḥ-strotodhāt parasparasaṅghaṭṭanena trayo'pyekadaiva kopaṃ nītāḥ| kena? tena,-atimātreṇānnena| atimātratvādevāmenapākakālātikrame'pyapakvena, ata eva duṣṭenavikṛtena, tadevāviśya-tathāvidhamevānnamadhiṣṭhāya, evaṃbhūtāstadevānnaṃ viṣṭambhayanto'lasakaṃ kurvate| cyāvayantaḥ punarvisūcikām| kābhyāṃ cyāvayantaḥ? adharottaramārgābhyām| sahasaivavegena| ajitātmagrahaṇamannalolupasyaivālasadyutpattiriti jñāpanārtham| uktaṃ ca suśrutena (u. a. 56/5)- " na tāṃ parimitāhārā labhante viditāgamāḥ| mūḍhāstāmajitātmāno labhante kaluṣāśayāḥ||" iti||
