The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. uttarābhyāmabhintrya yajurbhyāmapa ācāmati purastādupariṣṭāccottarayā triḥ prāśyānukampyāya prayacchet // ĀpGs_13.13 //


Haradatta’s Anākulā-vṛtti (sūtra 13.13)

atha taṃ madhuparkamuttarābhyāmṛgbhyāṃ'trayyai vidyāyai,'āmāganni'tyetābhyāmabhimantrya pūjyamānaḥ pratigṛhṇāti /
pādyādīnām- abhimantrya pratigrahadarśanāt madhuparkasyābhimantrya pratigrahaḥ, na pratigṛhyābhimantraṇam /
tatastaṃ'yanmadhuna'ityetayā triḥ prāśnāti /
sakṛnmantreṇa dvistūṣṇīm /

tataḥ prāśanasya purastādupariṣṭācca yajurbhyāmanantarapaṭhitābhyā"mamṛtopastaraṇamasyamṛtopidhānamasī'tyetābhyāṃ yathākramaṃ apa ācāmati /
tatra prayogaḥ amṛtopastaraṇasītyupastaraṇīyā apa ācamya madhuparka mantreṇa prāśyācamya evaṃ dvistūṣṇīṃ prāśyāpidhānīyā apa ācāmati /
paścāt śaucārthamācamanam /
śeṣaṃ madhuparkaprāśanaśeṣaṃ anukampyāya anugrāhyāya putrāya bhrātre samāvṛttāyaiva prayacchet /
so'pi taṃ prāśnāti /

somabhakṣaṇe madhuparkaprāśane bhojane ca madhye nocchiṣṭateti śiṣṭāḥ smaranti //13//

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 13.13)

atha pūjyastaṃ madhuparka pratigṛhyāpidhānapātramapanīya'trayyai vidyāyai''āmāgan yaśaśā'iti dvābhyāmabhimnatrya /
'amṛtopastara-ṇamasi'; iti yajuṣā purastātprā śanādapaḥ pibati /
tata ācamya'yanmadhuno madhavyam'ityanayā triḥ prāśnāti /
dvistūṣṇīm /
tataḥ'amṛtāpidhānamasi'; iti yajuṣā upariṣṭādapyapaḥ pibet /
atācamya śeṣamanukampyāya anugrāhyāya putrāśiṣyādaye samāvṛttāyaiva prāśituṃ prayacchet; na tu brahmacāriṇe,'na cāsmai śrutivipratiṣiddhamucchiṣṭaṃ dadyāt'(āpa.dha.1-4-5) iti niṣedhāt /

nanviha madhye śuddhyarthamupastaraṇānantaramācamanaṃ na kartavyam;asmākaṃ vacanābhāvāt /
nyāyate'pi naiva;bhojanavadapidhānāntameka- karmatvāt /
aparathā bhojame'pi pratigrāsamācamanaṃ prasajyeta /
atha sarvadeśakālakartṛvyāptācārabalāttatkartavyamiti cet, na;ayamācāra uktalakṣaṇo na vetyarvācīnānāṃ durniśceyatvāt /

atrocyate-nāyamākṣepaḥ bodhāyanādigṛhyeṣūpastaraṇānantaramācamanavidhidarśanenāsmākamapyācāraḥ sarvadeśādivyāpīti niścetuṃ suśakatvāt /
uktaṃ caitat"atha karmāṇyācārādyāni'(apa.gṛ.1-1) ityatra gārhyaaṇīti svaśabdaṃ vihāya, ācārādityupalakṣaṇato vyākhyeyagārhyakarmanirdeśāt, gṛhyāntarādyupadiṣṭaviṣayo'pyasmadīyānāmācāro vedamūla eveti /
bhojane tu na pratigrāsamācamanaprasaktiḥ;kvacidapi vacanābhāvāt, ācārābhāvācca /
somapāne punaḥ'na somenocchiṣṭā bhavanti'iti vacanādante'pi naivācamanam /
api caitadācamanam

śikābandhanādivat kartuḥ saṃskārakam, sannipāti ca anuktamapyapekṣitamanyato grāhyamiti nyāyavidaḥ /
tasmādihopastaraṇānantamācamanaṃ kāryameva /

kecit-baudhāyanādibhirupastaraṇāpidhānayostadarthānāṃ cāpāṃ nivedanasya pṛthagupadeśāt upastaraṇādūrdhvamācamanavidhānācca upastaraṇādeḥ

bahiraṅgatvena karmāntaratvāvagateryuktaṃ teṣāṃ prāśanāttprāgapyācamanam /
asmākaṃ tu tathāvidhopadeśābhāvāt, antaraṅgatvena upastaraṇādya- pidhānāntaṃ bhojanavadekaṃ karmeti madhye suddhyarthamācamanaṃ na yuktamiti /
maivam;yato'smākamapi'yajurbhyāmapa āācāmati'iti śabdāntareṇācamanayoḥ pṛthagovopadeśaḥ /
asmādeva pṛthagupadeśāttadarthānāmapāmāvedanaṃ cākṣepyam /
ato'smākaṃ teṣāṃ copadeśe vaiṣamya- bhāvāttulyayogakṣemamevācamanam // 13 //

11 madhuparkapratigrahītā rājā sthapatirvā cet tena tasya purohitāya dānam /
