The Sanskrit edition of the Apastamba Grihya-sutra with the commentaries of Haradatta (called the Anakula-vritti) and Sudarshana (called the Grihyatatparyadarshana-vyakhya). The Apastamba Grihyasutra is a short treatise on Vedic rituals which, together with the Hiranyakeshin-grihya-sutra, belongs to the Taittiriya School of the Black Yajur-Veda. samāpya japamathāgniṃ pradakṣiṇaṃ karoti tayā saha pradakṣiṇaṃ pariktāmatītyarthaḥ /
sarvatra dakṣiṇe haste gṛhītvā parikramaṇam /
tato yatāsthānamupaviśataḥ /
yasya yat sthānamupadiṣṭaṃ'uttaro vara'iti tasminnityarthaḥ /
upaviśya vadhvā manvārabdhāyāṃ anvarabdhavatyāṃ uttarā ṣṣoḍaśa pradhānāhutīrjuhoti /
homāya janividesvāhetyotaiḥ pratimantram /
darvīhomatvādevopaveśane siddhe upaviśyetyucyate niyamārtha-uttarā eva ṣoḍaśopaviśyajuhoti, anyāḥ sthitvaiveti /
tena lājāstiṣṭhatā hotavyāḥ /
tathā ca kalpāntareṣu bahuṣu dṛśyate bodhāyanānāṃ bahvṛcānāṃ chandogānāṃ vājasaneyināmātharvaṇikānāñca /
upahomoṣu yathāprāptamāsanameva bhavati /
etacca vakṣyāmaḥ-- /
anye tvāsīnayoreva homamicchanti /

'somāya janivida'iti mantranirdeśo homamantrāṇāmadipratyayanārthaḥ tena prāgeva tasmāt japamantrāḥ /

uttarā āhutī rityeva pratimantraṃ homassiddhaḥ yathānyeṣu homeṣu /
etaiḥ pratimantramityetattu purastādapakṛṣyata ityuktam /

Sudarśana’s Gṛhyatātparyadarśana-vyākhyā (sūtra 5.1)

sakheti japitvā, prāgghomāt homātprāk agnipradakṣiṇameva vadhvā sahakuryānnānyadarthakṛtyamāvaśyakamapi;'prāgghomādi'tyadhikagrahaṇāt /
tato yathāsthānaṃ 'uttaro varaḥ ityuktasthānānatikrameṇa, na tvaniyamena, upaviśya vadhvā manvārabdhāyāmuttarāḥ uttaramantrakaraṇikā

āhutī rhomān juhoti /
ke punasta uttare mantrāḥ?kathaṃ ca juhoti ?ityata āha-'somāya janivide'ityādayaṣṣoḍaśa mantrāḥ /

teṣāmaditaścatvāri yajūṃṣi,'preto muñcāti'ityādayo dvādaśarcaḥ /
etaiḥ- pratimantraṃ pratisvāhākāraṃ juhoti, na punaḥ'yajñaṃsvāhā vāci svāhā vātedhāssvāhā'(tai.saṃ.1-1-13) itivat'avadīkṣamadāstha svāhā'(ekā.1-4-4) ityetenaiva svāhākāreṇa homaḥ /
pūrveṣāmahomārthatā ca /

juhośabdārthaśca taddhitena caturthyā mantraliṅgādinā pratipannāścoditā devatāścoditenaiva caturthyantaśabdenodiśya yajamānena tyaktasya haviṣaścoditādhāre prakṣepaḥ /
iha ca mantraliṅgāt somādayo devatāḥ /
tāśca na janivittvādiviseṣaviśiṣṭāḥ /
homavidhyanupapattyā hi mantrapratipannānāṃ devatātvaṃ kalpyam, sāca devatāmātrakalpanayo śāmyati /
na punarnirbījāṃ gurvīṃ viśiṣṭakalpanāṃ prayuktigauravāpādikāmayuktāmapekṣate /
na ca grāhakamantrāmnānatayoranupapattyā viśiṣṭānāṃ devatātvakalpanā /
viśeṣaṇānāṃ'mūrdhā divaḥ kakut'; ityādivat stuttyā devatādhiṣṭhānānvaye'pi tayośca ritārthatvāt /
haviścājyamā'juhotīti codyamāne sarpirājyaṃ pratīyāt'(āpa.pa.1-25) iti paribhāṣāvacanāt /
vivādāderayajñatve'pi yajñeṣvadhikariṣyamāṇapuruṣadehayogyatāpādakatvena tatra yajñadharmā yuktā eva /
anyathā
ādhānapavamāneṣṭyādiṣvayajñeṣu'yajñopavītī pradakṣiṇam'(āpa.pa.2-15) ityādayo na prāpanuyuḥ /
homādhārastūpasamāhito'gnissthita eva //1//
