1) Adj. (f. ā) — a) in horizontaler Lage ausgestreckt , — ausgebreitet. Von Menschen: mit dem Gesicht nach oben , von Händen und Füssen: mit der inneren Fläche nach oben , von Gefässen , Muscheln und vom Schnabel: mit der Oeffnung nach oben. — b) flach , auf der Oberfläche sich befindend [Carakasaṃhitā 6,27.] oberflächlich (eig. und übertragen). — c) ausgebreitet , weit offen [Kād. (1872) 161,12.] so v.a. fertig daliegend [Indische sprüche 1189.] —

2) m. Nomen proprium eines Āṅgirasa.
