śimagā (शिमगा).—m The Holi-festival. 2 The month in which it is held, the month phālguna. Pr. śimagā jāī āṇi kavitva rāhī. śi0 karaṇēṃ To make a noise by bawling and at the same time striking the back of the hand against the mouth. śimagyācā mantra The mantra or spell pertaining to the Shimga-festival, i. e. bōmba or bellowing and beating the mouth. v japa, mhaṇa, vāca.
