(f. ī) a) zu derselben Kaste gehörig (vgl. savarṇa): putrāḥ [Mārkāṇḍeyapurāṇa 51, 30.] — b) zu Manu Sāvarṇa oder Sāvarṇi in Beziehung stehend: antara, manvantara [Harivaṃśa 606.] [WEBER, KṚṢṆAJ. 232.] [Mārkāṇḍeyapurāṇa 94, 1. 4.] saṃjñā [78, 32.] — b) Nomen proprium eines Dorfes: sābarṇikābhidhaṃ (sic) grāmam [Rājataraṅgiṇī 8, 2278.] könnte auch sāvarṇikā f. (von sāvarṇaka) sein.
