To this word, in order to amplify its sense into Wild freebooters or Desert-rangers, or by way merely of emphatic enhancement, the word rāna is often prefixed; as rānarāvatāṇī hyācē khātarēnta nāhīṃ; hā rānarāvatāṇī bhīta nāhīṃ or mānīta nāhīṃ &c.; and thus rānarāva- tāṇī becomes confounded with rāṇī rāutāṇī q. v.
