1) n. (im [Bhāgavatapurāṇa] bisweilen auch m.) — a) Oeffnung , Spalte , Höhlung. Am menschlichen Leibe werden 10 Oeffnungen angenommen ; je zwei an Nase , Augen und Ohren , dann Harnröhre , After , Mund und eine vermeintliche am Schädel. — b) so v.a vulva. — c) eine best. Theil am Körper des Pferdes. — d) Fehler , Mangel. — e) Blösse , Schwäche , schwache Stelle. — f) das achte astrologische Haus. —
2) m. Nomen proprium eines Sohnes des Manu Bhautya [Wilson's Uebersetzung des Viṣṇupurāṇa 3,29.] v.l. bradhna.
