Pragrahaṇa (प्रग्रहण):—(wie eben) n.

1) das Ergreifen, Einfangen [Suśruta 1, 41, 14.] sruva adj. so v. a. in der Hand haltend [Mahābhārata 5, 1229.] das Packen der Sonne oder des Mondes so v. a. der Anfang einer Finsterniss [Varāhamihira’s Bṛhajjātaka S. 5, 8. 87.] [Sūryasiddhānta 5, 16.] —

2) das Darreichen [Śāṅkhāyana’s Śrautasūtrāṇi 7, 5, 2.] —

3) Zügel, was Jmd im Zaume hält: yathā hi raśmayo śvasya dviradasyāṅkuśo yathā . narendradharmo lokasya tathā pragrahaṇam .. 1) m. Führer , Lenker. Nur an Ende eines adj. Comp. (f. ā) hier so v.a. geführt von.
