Nīcaga (नीचग):—(nīca + 1. ga)

1) adj. f. ā niedrig gelegen (von einem Flusse) und zugleich an einem Manne niederen Standes befindlich (vidyā) [Prooemium im Hitopadeśa 5.] zu einem niedrigen Stande gehörig: nīcagāmaṅganāṃ prāpya candanairmaṇḍalaṃ likhet [BHŪTAḌĀMARATANTRA im Śabdakalpadruma] in der Astrol. im Tiefpunkt stehend [Varāhamihira’s Bṛhajjātaka S. 19, 22.] [BṚH. 5, 16.] —

2) f. ā Fluss (vgl. nimnagā) [Śabdakalpadruma] nach einem Koṣa. Als Beleg wird fälschlich die Stelle oben aus [Hitopadeśa] angeführt. —

3) n. Wasser [Śabdakalpadruma] nach demselben Koṣa, das für das f. die Bed. Fluss giebt.
