Naidhana (नैधन):—(von nidhana) adj.

1) dem Untergang unterworfen, vergänglich: loka [Harivaṃśa 2194.] zum Tode in Bezug stehend: satkṛtaśca yathānyāyaṃ naidhanena citāgninā so v. a. für den Todten angezündet [4900.] naidhano gnirdaityānām den Tod bringend den D. [12565.] śṛṇu vistarataḥ sarvaṃ yanmāṃ pṛcchasi naidhanam . daityānām so v. a. Untergang, Tod [16240.] tadetadupalabdhaṃ me tasya vīrasya naidhanam [Rāmāyaṇa 4, 58, 11.] An den beiden letzten Stellen ist die abgeleitete Form bloss dem Versmaass zu Liebe gewählt worden. —
