Nābhigupta (नाभिगुप्त):—(nā + gupta) Nomen proprium eines Varṣa in Kuśadvīpa [Bhāgavatapurāṇa 5, 20, 15.] Das Wort bedeutet von Nābhi behütet; der Beherrscher von Kuśadvīpa ist Hiraṇyaretas, ein Sohn Priyavrata's der die sieben Varṣa seines Dvīpa unter seine sieben Söhne vertheilt; Nābhi wird wohl der Name eines dieser sieben Söhne sein, der also hier kein Sohn Āgnidhra’s, wohl aber ein Grossohn Priyavrata's wäre. — Vgl. nābhivarṣa .
