1) adj. f. ī am Ende eines comp. spaltend, zerschlagend, zerkleinernd: aśma mit einem Steine (Früchte) zerschlagend, zermalmend [Manu’s Gesetzbuch 6, 17.] [Mahābhārata 3, 12360. 13, 647. 14, 2851.] mit dem obj. compon., s. kāṣṭhakuṭṭa, śilākuṭṭa . Auch nur schlechtweg hämmernd; vgl. tāmrakuṭṭa Kupferschmied. —
2) m. a multiplier such, that a given dividend being multiplied by it, and a given quantity added to (or subtracted from) the product, the sum (or difference) may be measured by a given divisor, [Algebra 113.]
