kaḍōvikaḍīcā (कडोविकडीचा).—a (kaḍī Link; link within link. See above kaḍōvikaḍī) Used with bhāṣaṇa or bōlaṇēṃ. Rhetorical or oratorical complication; speech fraught with innuendo, double entendre, artful catches, clever manœuvring, and ingenious intricacy. Used also with artha-kalpanā-masalata-kāma-lihiṇēṃ-gāṇēṃ- vājaviṇēṃ-nācaṇēṃ-&c., implying artha &c. full of conceits, subtleties, niceties, quips, quirks, devices, fetches, contrivances; or of artistic figuring and flourishing, shaking and quavering, strokes, touches, tosses, gesticulations and attitudes. In the latter portion of this application of kaḍōvikaḍīcā, that is, as characterizing the gāṇēṃ, vājaviṇēṃ, nācaṇēṃ &c., kaḍōvikaḍī also occurs although with adverbial power. Ex. gōpāḷēṃ nācati bāgaḍīṃ || ānanda kariti kaḍōvikaḍī || Also pucch nācavi kaḍōvikaḍī || tōṇḍa vēṇṭāvi ḍōḷē mōḍī || Also aṣṭa bhāva makharēṃ kaḍōvika- ḍī || nava mahādvārēṃ tēthēṃ ughaḍī || 2 (kaḍa Extremity; by redup.) Extreme or superlative; i. e. fierce, furious, desperate--a quarrel, fight, debate: sharp, high, hot--abuse, words: strict, determined, rigorous--a summons, a demand.
