1) Nomen proprium eines mythischen Geiers (gṛdhrarāja), eines Sohnes des Aruṇa und der Śyenī (nach dem R. eines Sohnes des Garuḍa) und jüngeren Bruders des Saṃpāti. Als Freund des Daśaratha sucht er Sītā, die Gemahlin Rāma’s, als diese von Rāvaṇa ergriffen wird, zu befreien, wird aber von ihm getodtet.
