Jārūthya (जारूथ्य):—adj. stets in Verbind. mit aśvamedha Pferdeopfer: daśāśvamedhānājahre jārūthyāṃsa nirargalān [Mahābhārata 3, 16601. 7, 2232] (wo sa jārūthyam zu lesen ist). [12, 952.] [Harivaṃśa 2344.] jārutthya [Rāmāyaṇa 6, 113, 10.] Nach [Śabdakalpadruma] ist jāruttha (sic) m. = triguṇadakṣiṇākayajña ein Opfer, bei dem dreifache Opfergabe verabfolgt wird; hieraus ist bei [Wilson’s Wörterbuch], der gleichfalls die Form jāruttha hat, durch Missverständniss von dakṣiṇā entstanden: a sacrifice, thrice worshipping the sun in his southern declination. — Vgl. jarūtha .
