1) haltend , tragend.

2) ein Gewand , eine Gestalt , eines Leib u.s.w. tragend , so v.a. habend , im Besitz von Etwas seiend. bahuvarṣasahasra viele tausend Jahre alt.

3) ertragend. — Die v.l. hat dhṛt (z.B. [Mahābhārata 1,138,31.3,137,24.183,41.227,16.3,278,16.17.300,21.13,17,62]), bhṛt ([6,107,17] = [6,4902]) und kṛt ([12,248,158] = [12,10432]). dhṛk hat auch [Mahābhārata 23,40,29.14,78,47.] Vgl. dṛh.
