(-nā) (In the Mīmāṃsā philosophy.) The verbal notion which conveys the unseen power called apūrva q. v. I. 1. 2. 1. a.; e. g. leḍapi pratyayaścāpūrvabhāvanāmabhidhatte (comp. apūrva page 199b, line 12—31). E. apūrva and bhāvanā.
