Apacāyin (अपचायिन्):—(von 1. ci mit apa) adj. Jmd oder Etwas eine Einbusse erleiden lassend, schmälernd, Jmdes Rechte und Ansprüche nicht anerkennend: dharmāpacāyin (dharmābhiśaṅkin ed. Bomb.) [Mahābhārata 3, 1157.] guruvṛddhapa (= gurūṇāṃ vṛddhānāṃ ca hīnatvasaṃpādakaḥ [Scholiast][) 13, 6705.] jyeṣṭhāpa [3, 1489] erklärt der Schol. durch jyeṣṭhapūjanaśīla, erwähnt aber die richtige Lesart jyeṣṭhopacāyin, die er durch jyeṣṭhavaddhikaraṇaśīla erklärt. [4, 595] liest die ed. Bomb. fälschlich jyeṣṭhāpa st. jyeṣṭhopa der ed. Calc.; der Schol. erklärt jyeṣṭhapūjaka . Umgekehrt ist [Mahābhārata 14, 2198] statt vṛddhopacāyitvāt zu lesen vṛddhāpacāyitvāt; die ed. Bomb. hat hato (so auch in der ed. Calc. zu lesen) vṛddho mama pitā st. ito vṛddhopacāyitvāt .
