Alaukika (अलौकिक):—(3. a + lau) adj.

1) aus dem natürlichen Gange der Welt heraustretend, übernatürlich: iṣṭaprāptyaniṣṭaparihārayoralaukikamupāyaṃ yo grantho vedayati sa vedaḥ [Sāyaṇa] in der Einl. zu [Aitareyabrāhmaṇa] —

2) (gramm.) im täglichen Leben nicht anzutreffen, ungewöhnlich, selten, theoretisch, vedisch; so heisst z. B. die Auflösung des comp. adhihari in harau iti laukika, dagegen die in hariṅi (ṅi ist die technische Bezeichnungsweise der Endung des loc.) adhi alaukika [Pāṇini’s acht Bücher II, Pāṇini’s acht Bücher 79.] [Madhusūdanasarasvatī’s Prasthānabheda] in [Weber’s Indische Studien 1, 17, 20.] Davon nom. abstr. katva das seltene Vorkommen (eines Wortes): alaukikatvādamaraḥ svakoṣe na yāni nāmāni samullilekha . vilokya tairapyadhunā pracāramayaṃ prayatnaḥ puruṣottamasya ..
