2) [noun] (fig.) an action bringing an unintended benefit;3) [noun] ಅಡ್ಡೇಟಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಗುಡ್ಡೇಟು [addetina mele omdu guddetu] aḍḍēṭina mēla ondu guḍḍēṭu (prov.) an aimless or doubtful try that brings benefit by chance; ಅಡ್ಡೇಟು ತಗಲಿದರೆ ಬಡ್ಡನಾದರೂ ಗೆದ್ದಾನು [addetu tagalidare baddanadaru geddanu] aḍḍēṭu tagulidare baḍḍanādarū geddānu (prov.) if luck favours, even a useless person can become the victor.
