Abhigrah (अभिग्रह्).—(Ved. grabh) 9 U.

1) To take or seize, catch, catch hold of, seize forcibly, attack; रिपुणाभिगृह्य (ripuṇābhigṛhya) Daśakumāracarita 5, 98.13.

2) To accept, take.

3) To receive (as a guest).

4) To fold, lay or bring together (as the hands).

5) To set, show or bring forth (as blossom, fruit &c.). -Caus. To catch or surprise one in the very act, to let oneself be so caught; अर्यवर्यस्य कस्यचिद् गृहे चोरयित्वा रूपाभिग्राहितो बद्धः (aryavaryasya kasyacid gṛhe corayitvā rūpābhigrāhito baddhaḥ) Daśakumāracarita 96.
