The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 11.53

अन्धाय यश्च स्पृहयेदनन्धो बद्धाय मुक्तो विधनाय वाढ्यः ।
उन्मत्तचित्ताय च कल्यचित्तः स्पृहां स कुर्याद्विषयात्मकाय ॥ ५३ ॥

andhāya yaśca spṛhayedanandho baddhāya mukto vidhanāya vāḍhyaḥ |
unmattacittāya ca kalyacittaḥ spṛhāṃ sa kuryādviṣayātmakāya || 53 ||

'Only he who, though seeing, would envy the blind, though free the bound, though wealthy the destitute, though sound in his reason the maniac,—only he, I say, would envy one who is devoted to worldly objects.
